Welcome Back to the Steam Plant Grill and Coeur d’Alene Brewing Company Newsletter. Since our last newsletter, we have made a number of changes to the Steam Plant Grill. Our lower lounge has almost doubled in size and we have added two pool tables, two dart machines and a foosball table. With our expanded room, we also have room for a musician and have live, local music every Thursday from 6 – 9 pm. The bar has a completely different look and feel with the back wall removed. We’ve exposed more of the historic steam plant, so come check it out.
We have also unveiled a new menu.
We retained a few of the favorites from the old menu and added a bunch of new items that pair with the beer we make on-site.
The new menu is expanded and we are featuring many local and organic products.
Our menu is produced from “scratch” right on the premises every day.
They don’t want you to know, but most of the chains boil your entrée in a bag or pull it out of microwave.
If you want microwave food, can’t you stay home?
And who wants their dinner boiled in a bag?
Not me.
That’s why we make our sauces, soups and salad dressings.
That’s why we hand-cut our steaks and our fish.
That’s why we are proud of the crew in the kitchen who are trained, skilled and make your food fresh.
On the brewing side, we have a bunch of beers and events to celebrate the creation of the original Coeur d’Alene Brewing Company 100 years ago.
In 1908 the original brewery was built near downtown Coeur d’Alene along the Spokane River where the North Idaho College now stands.
We will get into the history and events in an upcoming newsletter, but for now, make a note of these dates:
Steam Plant Grill – Live Music Every Thursday 6 – 9 pm.
Coeur d’Alene Brewpub – Brewer’s Dinner – Sunday, June 8
Steam Plant Grill – Brewer’s Dinner – Sunday, June 29
Coeur d’Alene Brewing Company – Tour of Pain – 200-mile, one-day bike ride – Saturday, July 12
Coeur d’Alene Brewing Company – Homebrewer’s Contest – Sunday, October 12
Along the way we have some great beers made just to celebrate 100 years of brewing in Coeur d’Alene.
More details on all the beers and all the events to follow.
