You wouldn’t know it by looking outside but it is spring. Don’t let the snow fool you. If you are not convinced you need to look no further then the tap handles in the lower dinning room in the Steam Plant Grill. There you will find our Birthday Bock, celebrating the 100th birthday of the Coeur d’Alene Brewing Company. This microbrew is traditionally brewed in the fall or winter months and drank in the spring. It’s best described as a malty lager, amber in color, with a bittersweet finish. It’s one of my personal favorites. If you still need a little more persuasion to convince you its spring time our new spring drink menu is almost ready. Here at the Steam Plant Grill you will find unique drinks that you can’t find anywhere else in Spokane. Our Morning Dew Martini makes for the perfect spring time cocktail. Just for being a newsletter recipient we are going to give you the recipe to try for yourself. I guarantee you will love it. Morning Dew Martini 1 ¼ oz Tanquary 10 Gin 1 Lemon Wedge 5 Basil Leaves A Splash of Simple Syrup Muddle the lemon and basil leaves in a martini shaker. Add ice, simple syrup and gin. Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass. And in the kitchen, Executive Chef Barry Matthews is taking advantage of spring with some wonderful fresh product. In addition to the fresh halibut he told you about last week, he has also sourced fresh wild caught gulf shrimp. They are featured on both the lunch and dinner feature sheets.
