- An estimated 13 million pints of Guiness will be consumed today according to a Guiness spokesperson
- The color originally associated with this holiday was blue. Green did not become the color of St. Patrick's Day until the 19th century
- According to legend, St. Patrick became famous for banishing dangerous animals from Ireland, paticularly snakes
- There are more Americans of Irish origin than there are Irish in Ireland
From the Kitchen
To get in the spirit of this week's holiday, our Executive Chef, Barry Matthews, donned a green bowler, green jacket and dyed his beard orange to channel the essence of Ireland into this week's specials. (There may have been some Jameson whiskey involved too, but Barry isn't saying.) The result? A delicious corned beef and cabbage and a hearty Irish stew. These dellicious creations won't be here long, so try one today!

It's here! A well-balanced bock brewed with traditional German lager yeast and select roasted grains, this beer is perfect for any occasion. It starts with a mildly sweet taste on the tip of your tongue that has a gentle chocolate theme laced throughout each sip. A smooth and well-balanced hoppy finish is created with the use of Cascade and Vanguard hops. Available for a limited time. Drink me!!!
Thought for the Day
St. Patrick -- one of the few saints whose feast day presents the opportunity to get determinedly whacked and make a fool of oneself all under the guise of acting Irish.
