Bloomsday - Skip the Carbo-Loading Pasta Party

The worst thing you can do for your marathon comfort is to load up huge plates of pasta and salad and high-fat salad dressing the night before the marathon. As one expert commented, "Constipation is unknown among marathon participants." You don't want the extra weight in your digestive tract the next morning. You don't want any roughage, such as from the salad. You don't want the extra weight, period. If you have been eating a balanced diet the week before the marathon, you have already loaded your muscles with glycogen.
Our research team is still working on compiling it's findings on whether or not carbo-loading through beer intake has a positive effect on marathon performance. This ten-year study continues to provide conflicting data. Join our researchers tonight and become part of the "control group."
Control group members will be meeting in uniform (their Bloomsday t-shirt) on Sunday after the race throughout the restaurant. All group members in uniform will be given one $1 draft to aid in their research discussion. We will be opening early tomorrow at high noon to accommodate what looks to be a lively discussion.
Mother's Day and Graduation
We will be opening early on May 8th and May 9th to accommodate our guests wishing to celebrate their Mothers and their proud graduates. Doors will open at noon on each day for this weekend only.
Thought for the Day
May the saddest day of your future be no worse than the happiest day of your past. ~ Irish Toast
